Zoflora: “Kills Germs Beautifully” - 60s
As one of the few industries which likely received a boost from the Covid-19 pandemic, it feels apt for cleaning brands of all kinds to step up their advertising game. Zoflora does so in flamboyant fashion with this film from Gus Filgate, which emphasises the disinfectant's scented properties in the most explosive manner possible. Bursts of flower petals cascade across the screen like fireworks as the protagonist walks around her house, presumably musing on its superior cleanliness to the tune of 'Je Ne Regrette Rien'. The colourful action is made all the more impressive by the fact it was shot in-camera, giving the film a tangible, beautiful quality and drawing viewers in to the floral fantasy.
