If these walls could talk

Velux Roof Windows: “Long Life” - 70s

This Danish ad for Velux windows takes an unusual perspective on life: looking in via something that's usually looked through. Yes, director Nadia takes a window's-eye view on the world, charting the lives which pass through a house from the point of view of a particular skylight.

It's an intriguing take on the life cycles which play out as a home is occupied by different people over time. Young families and grandparents, make-ups and break-ups, fresh starts and final stops - each is rendered in loving detail on the reflective trip through time.

DOP Sophia Olsson's warm visuals give the film a pleasantly nostalgic feel, while an avuncular voiceover emphasises the brand's guarantee of long-lasting windows. It's attractive work, bound to appeal to home improvement enthusiasts looking for a major change.
