Tea dance.

by Syd Briscoe

Twinings: “Glow” - 60s

This well-observed commercial for Twinings sees a bloke mentally prepare himself for the day through the power of music... and tea, of course. The 60" spot features 'Bad Karma' by Axel Thesleff, as a bloke stares contemplatively over his garden while the kettle boils. At least until the beat compels him to groove - the rhythm, as they say, is gonna get you.

There's a lovely patience to the film here, as director James Marsh trusts in the hypnotic nature of his soundtrack and allows a full half of the film to elapse before the protagonist so much as moves. It's a compelling take on the in-between moments of the day - those Twinings are hoping viewers will pair with one of their new blends.
