Tofoo: “Like Nothing Else” - 30s

Groundbreaking dancer Solomon Golding stars in this confident piece of work for tofu brand Tofoo. The first Black British-born dancer to join the Royal Ballet, Golding cuts a radiant figure as he balances bao buns on his boots, eats bagels upside-down, and wears a headband furnished with the advertised product.

Scored by Toya Delazy's 'Teke', the ad is a sensory jolt from start to finish. Director Jade Ang Jackman draws an arch performance from her limber lead, while the food photography is a step up for meat alternatives. When Golding asks "Never seen tofu before?", it conveys a growing confidence in this oft-maligned sector.
