The Glenlivet: “Against the Tide” - 60s

Few drinkers have endured that tricky walk back from a crowded bar with drink(s) in hand lately. This lively Glenlivet commercial features a master of the art, as director Tom Noakes pits him against a conveyer belt-stroke-existential obstacle course. Welcome to the surprisingly exhausting world of whisky appreciation, eh?

Itís a well-made gauntlet that takes the protagonist from nineteenth-century Scotland to the present day, avoiding hurdles like complacency and the status quo (the concept, not the band) along the way. Traditionalists may balk at the idea of a single malt whisky cocktail, but the hallowed brand clearly have faith in the direction they're going.
