Power play.

Tesco: “Clubcard Prices” - 30s

Last year, a time-hopping ad for Tesco featured shoppers from all eras backed by Earth, Wind, & Fire's 'September'. Here, Blue Supermarket opt for Nineties Eurodance as Gillian discovers the supposed power of Clubcard points.

The unfettered customer shoots bolts of lightning from her card to the strains of 'The Power' by Snap!, which scores points for nostalgia rather than originality. More importantly, it earns Gillian discounts on multiple items.

The result is both zingy and tongue-in-cheek, particularly when a long-haired worker becomes an electrical conduit. Slowly but surely (notwithstanding the odd 'homemade' ad), the grocery sector is getting its mojo back.
