Spark: “Recharge” - 60s
New Zealand's handling of the coronavirus pandemic has garnered near universal praise over the last year, with the Kiwis ranked number nine in the 2021 World Happiness Report. Yet telecommunications company Spark NZ are wary of burnout derailing a fraught recovery. This 60" ad therefore reminds viewers that while machines are immune to pandemics, stress, and low morale, humans need to prioritize self-care as much as possible. PCs and laptops won't take it personally if users go out for some fresh air, for instance. The prospect of a double-dip recession may yet give the ad's target audience—owners of small and medium-sized businesses—restless nights, but there is definite value to the brand's message.
