Burning Bridges

by Syd Briscoe

Sigrid: “Burning Bridges” - 2 mins 52s

Scandi-pop artist Sigrid returns with a typically bittersweet outing in the form of latest track 'Burning Bridges'. The club-ready single features a dancey, synth-heavy beat, which sits in compelling contrast to lyrics about the end of a decaying relationship: "I could tell you the truth but you'd call me a liar/Tried to wave a white flag but you set it on fire".

Director Sophia Ray's promo complements these mixed emotions perfectly, as it follows the singer on a fantastical journey of breaking down walls and entering different worlds to escape a break-up.

There's also a great sense of energy throughout the piece, with kinetic camerawork and a committed central performance ensuring viewers understand the message of jettisoning baggage rather than wallowing in sadness.
