Gak, hold the gluten.

by Syd Briscoe

Short Films: “What You Got” - 90s

Clever wordplay lends an absurd edge to this amusing short film written and directed by Jim Owen. It's another excellent two-hander from the minds behind last year's mask-focused 'Put Some Clothes On Man Jesus Christ', and this time stars a drug dealer trying to meet his customer's very specific demands.

The two lead performances really enhance the witty dialogue, as a yoga-loving woman is more concerned with the providence and gluten-free qualities of her lockdown party drugs than their price. It's a satisfying satire of the British liberal mindset, set on having only the best "all natural, no pesticide, locally-sourced gak". Insightful work from Owen and co.
