Pause for thought.

Royal British Legion: “It's Good To Be Home” - 1 min 43s

Playwright Eno Mfon anchors this engaging piece of work for the Royal British Legion. With a family dinner in full swing, she presses a literal pause button that stops everyone else in their tracks. Now Mfon has the run of the kitchen and dining room, she invites hectic individuals to stop and think about what Armistice Day means in 2021.

The freeze-frame/diorama effect is well done, with peas stuck in mid-air and steam fixed above a roast bird. It also gives Mfon an arresting stage, and she delivers a worthy tribute to "those who look fear in the eye and say no". Evoking much of the self-care language used during the pandemic, this adds a hint of mindfulness to remembrance.
