Step on my Day-Glo boots.

by Andrew MacGregor

Puma: “Drive Them Crazy” - 1 min 39s

This hyper-caffeinated Puma commercial riffs on Neymar's reputation as the ultimate wind-up merchant. Co-directed by Frenchmen Adrien Lagier and Ousmane Ly, the film sees the Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain striker execute Plan Z: an assortment of tricks designed to turn defenders' heads ŕ la 'The Exorcist'.

Of course, nothing in football goes unshared these days, with Neymar and his Day-Glo, Future Z boots causing the letter Z to go viral. Zorro may wish to contact his lawyers right about now.

Augmented by loud VFX and the odd crick in the neck, the ad ably delivers this sector's customary blend of showmanship and ball skills. Meanwhile, the ‘more is more’ approach used in Nike’s ‘Nothing Beats a Londoner’ film shows no sign of fading.

Cinematographer: Nicolas Loir
