Pepsi: “Empty Bottle” - 50s

This Spanish commercial for Pepsi lands six months after the brand were (again) named as one of the world's three worst plastic polluters. Some Premier League managers would kill for such consistency. Eager to avoid another top-three finish, the company claim that their plastic bottles are now one hundred percent recyclable.

The accompanying film is a neat twist on this sector's most reused image: the overlong, fetishished swig from a bottle. As the protagonist stares at the empty container, one starts to believe that love can flourish between a human and a 500ml receptacle. Let's see how environmental activists judge the brand's efforts in the next chart rundown.
