He'll be forever blowing bubbles.

by Jason Stone

O2: “Bubl” - 60s

Having introduced the Compare the Market meerkats more than a decade ago, it's fair to say that VCCP know a thing or two about beloved advertising icons. So don't imagine for one moment that the cute robot Bubl who is introduced in this sweet commercial will be limited to a solitary outing.

The bubbles emerging from the little fella cleverly represent the various services provided by a modern mobile network from the shy courting couple on adjacent park benches to the hillwalking couple arguing about which is England's biggest lake.

The really clever thing about this commercial is the way it introduces something new while retaining so much of O2's recent advertising heritage. DAVID suspects that viewers will connect this brand well before Sean Bean's voice kicks in at the end to clear up any uncertainty.
