New York Times: “Making a Scene” - 2 mins 30s

This intriguing teaser for the New York Times from 2013 takes viewers on a star-studded tour through the world of cinema. The wider project is comprised of eleven very short films, with celebrity actors delivering a single line of dialogue in each. Written by Spike Jonze, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Greta Gerwig, and more, viewers are in for an esoteric treat.

The relationship between dialogue and aesthetic is thoroughly teased out by director Janusz Kaminski here, as entire worlds are built and stories told in just a few seconds per scene. Whether watching Michael B Jordan ride an intentionally fake-looking horse or Robert Redford muse on tofu in monochrome, there's something thought-provoking for everyone in the strangely compelling collection.
