NatWest: “Tomorrow Begins Today” - 40s
Once the most ponderous bank on the high street, NatWest's recent advertising has benefited from a lighter touch. Keen to replicate the success of 2020's perky MoneySense ad, the brand and agency The&Partnership once again enlist directing duo The Bobbsey Twins from Homicide for a sideways look at personal finance. The pair introduce not one but six versions of protagonist Alex, who all live at different points on his financial timeline. While his past self is more focused on breakfast than budgets, present-day Alex's decision to set a savings goal proves a far-sighted success. Canny VFX make this amiable conference possible, evoking Experian's Data Self campaign with Marcus Brigstocke (itself inspired by online double act Dan & Dan). Such an uncanny headcount makes DAVID feel like Legs from The Simpsons.
