Charge of the byte brigade.

by Andrew MacGregor

Mettle: “Charge” - 30s

Hounds, hoses, and hairdryers are among the tools of the trade featured in this ad for business banking app Mettle. Self-employed people from all professions hurtle across the screen in black-and-white slow motion, with the odd splash of pink for good measure. The brand recommend a surge mentality, and a more nimble form of banking to match.

This is conveyed well by director Tiny Bullet, who cuts between a game cast of self-starters. We particularly like the ice cream man who's armed with a ninety-nine and is not afraid to sell it. Furthermore, the monochrome aesthetic with a dash of colour ensures a dramatic yet playful battle cry.
