Animal crackers.

Meta: “The Tiger and the Buffalo” - 80s

It's easy to mock Facebook—or Meta, as it's now known—and that suits us just fine. After all, DAVID has dogs to walk, dishes to wash, and vaccine passports to somehow download - taking the piss out of Mark Zuckerberg's baby is a cinch in comparison.

Toe-curling interviews and egregious jargon have done little to improve the brand's reputation, while Frances Haugan must pray the hypothetical 'metaverse' doesn't go Skynet on her. God help any child whose parents named them Meta for a laugh.

All that said, director Andrew Thomas Huang has done a great job with the company's relaunch video. His immersive, batshit take on Henri Rousseau's 'Tiger in a Tropical Storm' engrosses from start to finish, and only the obligatory logo breaks the spell. Art appreciation with real bite.
