The Great Escape

by Syd Briscoe

McDonald's: “Where is Everyone?” - 40s

The mountain of meat that is the Double Big Mac proves too tempting to resist in this entertaining McDonald's commercial. Each scene is shot only moments after its occupants have fled, leaving chairs swinging, lawnmowers running free, and confused customers wondering why they've been left with half a haircut.

It's a droll way to draw attention to the burger's limited menu spot (it disappears mid-November), and directors Samuel & Gunnar give each well-designed vignette space to breathe. Particularly rabid fast food fans may jump at the chance to get their gob around the new addition, though increasing numbers will be seeking a plant-based alternative.
