Marks & Spencer: “Olivia Colman” - 60s

Grey London are taking a different approach for Marks & Spencer’s Christmas campaign this year. Instead of investing everything in one all-singing, all-dancing spot, M&S are releasing nine celebrity-voiced ads over the next few weeks. First up is Olivia Colman, who gets her Oscar-winning tongue around some of the brand's festive consumables.

Colman’s bubbly delivery (on top of Helen Downing’s slick, appetising direction) reaffirms the brand’s confidence in their food and drink department, pandemic or no pandemic. Yet a combination of high-profile losses and no Christmas TV clothing ad means there is more pressure on "fancy-pants" starters, mains, and desserts than ever before.
