National Lottery: “Fun Stuff Happens” - 60s

You wait ages for a piece of work featuring the Natural History Museum, then two appear at once (kind of). Hot on the heels of Little Simz's 'Introvert' promo comes this 60" National Lottery film, which also features the hallowed building and some unusually animated exhibits.

Narrated by Dermot O'Leary, the ad also spotlights local skate parks and historical reenactments. What binds these busy scenes together is a wheelchair user whose chair becomes even more impressive as the ad goes on.

It's a welcome example of a disabled protagonist in advertising, and lends the brand’s 'good causes' wing extra credibility. Both O'Leary's narration and campaign mainstay 'Three is a Magic Number' could do with more oomph, but there’s still plenty to keep viewers engaged.
