Waste Not

by Syd Briscoe

Levi's: “Re/Done” - 2 mins 07s

This snappy film for Levi's dives head-first into the world of sustainable fashion. Director Java Jacobs establishes a zippy tone from the start, as viewers are taken on a whistle-stop tour of all things Re/Done - the brand's effort to upcycle their old denim and create less waste for the planet's sake.

Considering that 3,781 litres of water are used during the production and use phase of one pair of 501 jeans and 33.4 kg of CO2 is created throughout its lifetime, recycling rather than creating new fabric seems like a no-brainer when it comes to the climate crisis. Thankfully, enterprising souls like Sean and Jamie are on the case.

The film's quirky sense of humour and attention to detail serves the narrative well, while a mixture of fashion-forward imagery and nifty editing ensures that viewers remain attentive throughout the two-minute runtime. It's a nimble look at a less destructive fashion future, with promised ranges to come, further expanding the service's offer.
