Jura: “Say Hello to Jura” - 90s

Hebridean hospitality permeates this 90” ad for Jura whisky, with some of the island’s “two-hundred-and-twelve-ish” residents on hand to sing its praises. Full disclosure: this ad was originally released in 2019, so there’s no need to alert the social distancing Stasi.

It’s a shame as the cast do a lovely job of selling the island’s amenities, which include a music festival, mountain views, and "the world’s third-largest whirlpool". Like neighbours Islay (home of Laphroaig single malt), personality and product go hand in hand.

This makes lines like "Maybe you’ll come and say hello one day" especially poignant, as Scotland’s rural communities manage a tricky balancing act in regards to public health and tourism. At least Jura's chief export can help lift the mood.
