Where are my keys?

by Andrew MacGregor

Jet: “Piano” - 69s

Joe Jackson's 1982 hit 'Steppin' Out' provides the soundtrack to this 60" Jet commercial, which features a bloke both riding and playing a grand piano. Perhaps the filling station were huge fans of Vanessa Carlton back in the day, or they simply want motorists to get back into the pre-lockdown rhythm... pending future travel restrictions.

Director Nate Camponi and DP James Watson's visuals are reassuringly seasonal, while a well-judged interlude reminds viewers of the brief yet important role petrol stations play in their journeys. Like the AA before them, Jet want punters to hit the road and revisit their driving playlists as much as possible - whether they include classic sophisti-pop is a matter of personal taste.
