Rather than repeat the contentious claim that Santa Claus is immune to Covid-19, Innocent take a practical approach to saving Christmas. This irreverent ad focuses on a children's book of a different kind - one which works to allay fears that Saint Nick will be steering clear of chimneys this year. Not sure how he's going to hoover up left-out treats in his new togs, mind. Boasting a satirical script aimed firmly at the adults in the audience and quirky, hand-drawn illustrations courtesy of Sally Anderson, the film blends real-world Covid concerns with fantastical elements as Father Christmas gets a custom bio-hazard suit courtesy of the advertised brand. The live action sequence at the end feels like a different ad altogether, but it adds a diverting visual twist to an already amusing piece of work.
