ITV: “Do It for Christmas” - 60s
Whether it's debating how big a turkey to buy or who to include in a festive bubble, size matters this Christmas. Thus, ITV urge seasonal fanatics, including over-eager neighbours and beard bauble wearers, to double their efforts this year and avoid a "half-baked, can't-be-bothered Christmas". After all, desperate times call for desperate measures. The aforementioned die-hards are well cast, as is the jolly drill instructor who demands festive overkill. For their part, ITV (represented by a twinkly Stephen Mulhern) promise a glut of festive television. Despite reality's best efforts, the ad says, there may be just be enough Christmas juice in the generator this year. Just.
