Lives well lived.

IKEA: “Buy Back” - 87s

While flatpack furniture has previously been seen as almost disposable - something of mediocre quality that's easy to replace - IKEA are encouraging customers to be more eco-friendly with their furnishing choices this Black Friday. The retailer is introducing a scheme to buy back its previously-loved products and give them a new lease of life, with this amiable film focusing on the now-ubiquitous Billy bookcase.

Displaying retro knick-knacks, showcasing trophies for athletic prowess, keeping study materials just about organised - the furniture in question does a lot more than hold books throughout its lifespan. Directing duo The Sacred Egg have judged the action nicely, giving each vignette time and space to breathe. Thoughtfully framed work that will appeal to home-overhaulers during Lockdown 2.
