Crafty romance.

by Jason Stone

Hobby Lobby: “Neighbours” - 80s

If you put on Channel 5 in the run-up to Christmas, you will encounter a daily dose of Christmas sentimentality in the afternoon. The station appears to have an inexhaustible supply of romantic movies associated with the festive season, but none of them is as mercifully short and beautifully simple as this film for Hobby Lobby by director Rudi Schwab.

An apparent arms race of hobby craft fuels a romance between two neighbours thanks to little gifts left in their respective letterboxes. But will it lead to them acting on their mutual attraction? You have to watch the film to find out.
