Under Fire

by Andrew MacGregor

Django Django: “Under Fire” - 3 mins 55s

Django Django's 'Under Fire' receives a nocturnal promo courtesy of director Drew Tyndell. We find frontman Vincent Neff behind the wheel of a classic BMW, cruising the streets of London with an inscrutable look on his face. One half expects Ryan Gosling's character from 'Drive' to catch up at the traffic lights.

As in Nicolas Winding Refn's neo-noir thriller, the city becomes a character in its own right. An ever-shifting palette of oranges, blues, reds, and blacks turns London into a place that reacts to Neff's journey, as well as the track's tight, ethereal groove. What the promo lacks in 'Fast & Furious' pyrotechnics, it makes up for in atmosphere and vivid urban scenery.
