Diet Coke: “Drink What Your Mama Gave Ya!” - 60s

The oft-repeated stereotype of 'wine mum' has lately been joined by a new addition: the 'Diet Coke mum'. The low-calorie soda has acquired a reputation for being beloved by women of a certain age, with Coke embracing the image in their latest campaign.

Directed by Los Perez, this well-designed film argues that mothers are, in fact, the coolest of us all. Starting with the whole, ahem, 'creating life' thing, the ad takes a whistle-stop tour of their unique parental powers - from last-minute costume design to inventing rideshares before apps even existed.

Boasting a vintage vibe and synth-driven soundtrack, it's an extremely watchable piece of work which bears repeat viewings to absorb all the lovely details. Considering mums are harnessing their powers in bold new ways right now, it's also a timely reminder that they're not to be messed with.
