Safety first.

Cybex: “Anoris” - 90s

Sometimes, the only thing a commercial needs to do is draw the attention of the target market to the existence of the product. This is very much the case here... any parent of young child with the means to buy the Cybex Anoris is going to seriously consider it after watching this demonstration. The Anoris will set you back 560 but, those who can afford it, would probably argue that it's a small price to pay for the peace of mind it delivers.

After all, there's nothing more precious to most parents than the safety of their children, and they'll naturally be interested in any product which promises to improve the chances that their progeny will be unharmed in the event of a car accident.

It's an incredibly impressive bit of kit, and the engineers appear to have thrown everything at it. So much so that it brings to mind a moment from DAVID's past life as a cycle courier.

Most of the riders got by with a pair of Lycra shorts and a t-shirt (weather permitting), but every now and then, a new rider would join the company looking as though they were readying themselves for the Tour de France. On one particular occasion, a young man arrived wearing a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads all worn over a Lycra all-in-one garment which stretched from ankle to neck. DAVID glanced up from his copy of 'Moving Target' to take in this sight, and remarked: "when you're that prepared for a fall, it seems a pity not to come off".

Similarly, here, we wonder if you'd feel short-changed if you were never involved in an accident of sufficient gravity to deploy the car seat's airbag.

And, as impressive as this demonstration is, what parents really want from Cybex is a car seat which doesn't require an engineering degree to install each time you want to go to the fucking shops.
