Coca Cola: “The Great Meal” - 90s

Few things have changed for the better in recent months, but Coca-Cola explore one of the silver linings of lockdown in their latest ad. Enforced time at home and a lack of restaurants has led to many experimenting in the kitchen - whether that means getting back to their cultural roots or trying something totally new.

From grandmothers whipping up family favourites to recipes passed down to the next generation, this film offers a touching perspective on quarantine cooking. Food has the power to heal both physically and emotionally, and director Kim Gehrig doesn't shy away from showing the stress and anxiety we've all been dealing with lately.

Things will change, of course, as lockdown eases and work restarts, and people become pressed for time once more. However, this campaign is a sweet reminder that making an effort to nourish both our bodies and relationships is vital, and that time spent preparing a meal with those we love certainly isn't wasted.
