Camden Town Brewery: “Giftnosis” - 60s

Camden Town Brewery rely on good old fashioned hypnosis for their Christmas sales push. Directed by James Papper, the animated commercial targets "bad gift givers" who think socks, toilet brushes, singing fish, etc., are golden. That's where the advertised brewery and their well-qualified hypnotist come in.

He stands out thanks to his afro hairnet, gold tooth, and hi-vis Santa costume, though his chief weapon is a bottle cap-shaped pendulum. This draws viewers into a psychedelic world of cans, grooming kits, and ribbons tied around pints.

Eschewing glitz and glamour for a more offbeat vibe, the brand compel punters to think outside the box and deliver a liquid Christmas instead. Coupled with Marmite's mind-control campaign, how much more can viewers' fragile brains take?
