Barclaycard: “Stephen Graham” - 60s

Actor Stephen Graham gives Barclaycard their money's worth in this fun 60" film which has him rising to the challenge of making a commercial for them all by himself.

It's marvellous to see advertising unshackled from its collective sombreness and starting to have some fun with the constraints on its ability to make commercials in the usual way. Stephen Graham proves a good sport as he works through a number of green screen-based ideas to spice up the film. (Mind you, with his track record of playing villains, there's a genuine edge about his flash of anger at the end!)

The improvement in the advertising industry's output over the last few weeks has been quite remarkable. They were slow to get there but they're finally showing that pandemic advertising doesn't have to be weighed down by the gravity of our collective plight.
