Stories to tell.

by Syd Briscoe

Audible: “Have You Heard” - 40s

Amazon try to get their audio streaming service on the public's radar with this pacy commercial. Director Owen Trevor explores the nature of storytelling throughout the 40" piece, which sees friends, colleagues, and partners relay their latest audiobook or podcast experience second-hand. As it's how many of us choose our media amidst endless optons, harnessing the power of personal recommendation is a canny move.

Thus, a married couple discuss fantasy fiction while preparing for bed, a pair of dentists ignore their patient in favour of plotting their power-partners future, and a late-night takeaway turns into an in-depth literary discussion. A final scene featuring two same-sex couples (one cheekily revealing themselves as part of a museum exhibit) is particularly intriguing, inviting curious viewers to explore Audible's offer further.
