Ambrosia Custard: “Devon Knows” - 30s

A curious mole takes a trip skyward in this part-animated commercial for Ambrosia Custard. The mellifluous film sees the mole hitch a ride on a yellow balloon, drifting contentedly across the countryside before making a pitstop to put the, erm, nick in picnic. The Everly Brothers' 'All I Have to Do is Dream' provides a suitable soporific soundtrack to the gentle journey.

Lovely character design lends the film an added layer of charm, as the once-subterranean beast encounters some curious wildlife along the way. It's hard to give a furry mascot the right amount of personality while still remaining utterly wholesome, so kudos to directors Jonny & Will for successfully walking the tightrope between sweet and saccharine.
