Pablo Oliveró, James Poole, and Javier Barcala have joined Papaya Films for commercial representation in the UK.
The talented trio impressed executive producer Wojtek Skiba as he plans for "a very busy season ahead". So, what do Spaniards Olivero and Barcala and Englishman Poole bring to Papaya headquarters?
1. Pablo Oliveró
Barcelona-born Pablo Olivero once flirted with a career in economics, but, fortunately, he enrolled at the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia instead. Now he has a wealth of commercials to his name.
High-profile brands like Iberia appreciate Olivero's cinematic visuals and dedication to his craft. The airline's globetrotting ad from 2018 shows what Olivero is capable of, and bodes well for his UK advertising debut.
2. James Poole
Injury may have scuppered James Poole's elite running hopes, but he's certainly found his feet as a director. His reel includes numerous sports documentaries and TVCs - all imbued with Poole's own competitive spirit.
He's also shed light on Muslim beekeepers in London and folk-pop music from Kent, adding further texture to his portfolio. As Poole's skillset grows, so do the hopes of Wojtek Skiba, Kacper Sawicki, and Corin West.
3. Javier Barcala
Flitting between Belgium and his native Spain, Javier Barcala is a writer and director known for his progressive outlook. The result is one of the most colourful, multifaceted showreels on the Papaya Films website.
A 2017 ad for Marriott Hotels gave him the chance to combine candy-coloured visuals and upbeat choreography, while a series of ads for clothing retailer Joyce provided the opportunity to demonstrate a knack for avant-garde world-building.
