Michelle Savill joins Arts & Sciences.

DAVID's fact of the day comes courtesy of Kiwi director Michelle Savill, who's joined Arts & Sciences for UK and US representation. Thanks to her, we now know that Aotearoa is Maori for New Zealand.

Savill is now one of her country's most sought-after directors, with a reel chock full of commercials, short films, and documentaries. As if that wasn't enough, her debut feature, 'Millie Lies Low', was shown at both SXSW and the Berlin International Film Festival. Not too shabby at all.

It's little wonder why managing director and partner Mal Ward expects Savill to thrive on both sides of the Atlantic: "Michelle is an exciting talent who humanizes the characters in her films with a depth of insight that belies her age. She understands that it is our struggles, vulnerabilities, and experiences that make us human, and brings those attributes forward in each of her films. We are very excited to welcome her to Arts & Sciences."

As for Savill, she admires the company's respect for her craft: "Arts & Sciences understands that powerful storytelling is layered with nuance, intimacy, and a dedication to craft, and I'm delighted to join the family." Unlike the queen in her 2019 Vodafone ad, no one interrupts Savill's short but sweet speech.
