Maria Carriedo joins Freefolk.

by Andrew MacGregor

CG Lead Maria Carriedo has completed a move from The Mill to Freefolk. The Mexican aims to form a strong partnership with Head of CG Harin Hirani, who says, "Maria has worked on some outstanding projects over her career and possesses an abundance of artistic talent."

Hirani also believes that Carriedo's "background as both a 3D generalist and a lead will be invaluable to us, as we continue to grow our commercials and longform department." She expects plenty of budding artists to pick Carriedo's brain, too.

The latter excites managing director and executive producer Fi Kilroe: "Her enthusiasm to nurture talent, be part of a team, and create award-winning work fits in perfectly with Freefolk's ethos. Maria has an amazing catalogue of projects."

And what does Carriedo think about her new home? "I know Freefolk is the perfect fit for me as I connected with the team immediately. I really felt their passion for both the creative and technical sides of VFXI love that balance and I know its going to be great working together."
