Los Pérez for Biscuit Filmworks in London.

by Jason Stone

Biscuit Filmworks has extended its relationship with directing duo Los Pérez (aka Tania Verduzco and Adrián Pérez) by adding them to its UK roster. The pair, who have dazzled the advertising world with their unique aesthetic since bursting on the scene a decade ago, were already represented by Biscuit in the US and this consolidation of their connection seems likely to prove fruitful for both sides of the equation... as well as for the London ad industry, as a whole.

The beauty of this 2023 commercial for Tinder is that it never loses sight of its objective - presenting the hook-up app as a repository of hopeless romantics without losing the idea that it's also somewhere you can go for fiery sensuality - despite the deployment of mind-blowing special effects. Something else we can't help admiring is the way it is laced with humour. This helps to keep it grounded, and establishes a more sophisticated idea for the brand. And it looks fantastic, because, of course it does... it's Los Pérez!

Adrián and Tania are incredibly talented and their commitment to craft is extraordinary.

This spot for Samsung subtly expresses its superiority over Company A by suggesting the latter's fan boys consistently find themselves asking Samsung user Mia to share her photos with them. As you'd expect, Los Pérez have expressed this idea with their trademark visual élan, something which - in itself - helps to further claim. A great film and, importantly, great advertising.

Rupert Reynolds-MacLean is understandably enthusiastic about his new assets: "Adrián and Tania are incredibly talented and their commitment to craft is extraordinary... [they] blend their strengths to deliver compelling character-driven stories through a dynamic cinematic lens. We’re looking forward to extending their reach under the Biscuit banner."

Los Pérez are equally ebullient: "We love what we do, which is aligning our points of view to world-build for brands. Since joining Biscuit for US representation a few years ago, we couldn’t be happier. We have long admired the work the UK office is producing, so it’s wonderful to be joining their stellar roster as well and have them represent us in more markets.”
