Blinkink have completed the quadruple signing of directors Jack Brown, Louis Clichy, Danaé Gosset, and Balázs Simon.
The four bring experience in music videos, commercials, and feature films to Blinkink HQ, as well as a shared love of animation in all its forms. Read on to see how each of the new signings shape up...
1. Jack Brown
Jack Brown is a London-based director who's popular with artists on both sides of the Atlantic. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2018, Brown has already flourished in the promo realm.
He recently provided visuals for Ariana Grande and The Weeknd's remix of 'Save Your Tears', while this 2020 promo for jazz duo Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes transports viewers to a gorgeously rendered beach.
2. Louis Clichy
Director and animator Louis Clichy's credits include 'Wall-E', 'Up', and 'Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion', with the Frenchman keen to check out more commercial opportunities at Blinkink.
He made his debut for the company in 2020 with a spot for mobile puzzle game Toon Blast. Inspired by classic cartoon road trips, the three-minute ad demonstrates Clichy's light touch and vibrant colour palette.
3. Danaé Gosset
Born in France and currently based in New York, filmmaker Danaé Gosset jumps between 2D and 3D animation for a growing selection of clients.
Much of Gosset's work features an expressive, hand-painted aesthetic, which looks even more striking in motion. Check out this 2019 promo for Japanese-American artist Mitski's 'A Pearl' to see what we mean.
4. Balázs Simon
According to Balázs Simon's Vimeo bio, the Hungarian is a "director, music noob, cold weather enthusiast, and yogurt inhaler". He must have one of the best digestive systems on the roster.
Simon also has multiple Vimeo Staff Picks to his name, with stand-out promos for artists like Nils Frahm and Bronson over the years. This granular piece of work for Leifur James underlines Simon's interest in natural processes and advanced VFX.
