Norwegian filmmaker Dee Koppang O'Leary is the latest director to join Dark Energy’s roster for commercial representation.
The move coincides with the release of Koppang's nostalgic promo for Coronation Street, which shows how screenwriter Tony Warren conceived the Manchester soap on a train in 1959.
"It was a total joy to be part of creating a film paying tribute to such an iconic British TV series & its creator," Koppang says. "Having pitched on the Coronation Street sixtieth anniversary film with Dark Energy, it felt natural to develop the relationship further and join the roster."
Chuffed to see more from the Norwegian is Dark Energy’s executive producer, Anna Allgrove, who says: "Not only has she got vast experience in high-end TV drama, Dee brings a catalogue of beautiful work for the likes of Victoria's Secret, Johnnie Walker, M&S, and Comic Relief to name but a few."
Together with her second-unit work on period dramas The Crown and Brigerton, Koppang's commercial potential excites Allgrove no end: "Her latest work for Coronation Street’s sixtieth birthday is a perfect example of how her TV skills can translate to the advertising market. We are over the moon to have a talent like Dee join the roster."
