Zovirax: “Extermination” - 30s

Let's face it, cold sores aren't Hollywood material - not unless they're a cheap gag in a romantic comedy. That hasn't stopped sore cream pedlars Zovirax from crafting their own 30" sci-fi epic, however, as a crack team of specialists travel across the desert to fight a computer-generated blister.

Taking its visual cues from the likes of multiplayer shooter ‘Destiny', the ad makes a laudable bid to inject production value into this oft-maligned sector. Even the radio chatter knowingly evokes some of the sci-fi genre's kitsch bouts of exposition… which may tip the balance for those in the skin treatment aisle.
