Xbox: “Ultimate Scream” - 35s

The Halloween clean-up may be well underway, but there's still time to appreciate this seasonal offering from Microsoft's Xbox. Directed by Rich Hall, the online film ostensibly subjects one Fifa 20 player to her worst nightmare… but there are hidden benefits to being sucked into your favourite football simulation as the witching hour strikes.

Her uncanny trial is brought to life through some especially hairy VFX and a luminescent colour palette. Xbox enthusiasts will also appreciate a super-charged version of the console's familiar notification sound in the background. Even if the brand's vision of Halloween is unlikely to give players nightmares, the closing gag is cuddly and threatening in equal measure.
