WWF: Save the elephant.

by Syd Briscoe

WWF: “Elephant's Eye” - 60s

This beautifully animated ad for the WWF shows the harsh realities of the ivory trade through an elephant's eyes. Live action and naturalistic animation come together to show the violent harvesting of ivory, and the difference the WWF's work makes to protect animals from poachers. Touching stuff which makes good use of it's clever central conceit.

The recent will-he, won't-he approach adopted by Donald Trump in respect of allowing hunting trophies to be imported to the USA brought this issue back into focus. Work like this reminds us of the importance of protecting these animals is a vital counter-weight to the Trump family's disgusting callousness.
