All Together Now

Very: “Pass the Parcel” - 40s

Community spirit takes the spotlight in this 40" Christmas outing for Very. The retailer's familiar pink box provides a visual thread throughout, as it's passed around the neighbourhood in order to ensure a lonely old man has everything he needs for an enjoyable holiday.

The sweet animation style which has become synonymous with the brand fits the narrative well here, as the whole street come together to provide pudding, fairy lights, and - most importantly - company.

Not only is this a charming narrative about changing the world for the better on a small scale, but also a timely reminder that many older people will be spending the holiday season alone (evoking the Co-op's 2015 Christmas ad in particular). Spending time to stop someone being lonely may be the most rewarding gift to give at Christmas - pink box or no.
