Family reunion.

by Andrew MacGregor

Very: “A Very Special Surprise” - 2 mins 23s

Most viewers' heartstrings have been tugged in every direction by this point in November, and some, alas, may have snapped entirely. One potential culprit is Very's heartwarming ‘Pass the Parcel' ad and, as this online film shows, the retailer isn't quite finished yet.

The brand's secret weapon is a foster couple who have cared for nearly two-hundred children over fifty years. With the help of sometime Spice Girl Emma Bunton, one grown-up adoptee is keen to show Marguerita and Albert what they mean to her and others.

If Bunton provides the star power (and one awkward moment of silence when she greets the couple), it's Marguerita who delivers the emotion as she watches her children flood the room. Such family dynamics are rarely depicted at this time of year, and the brand earn points for doing so.
