Welcome to the Ozarks.

True Detective: “Season Three Titles” - 90s

Second album syndrome plagued True Detective's sophomore run, but the show's grim allure remains just as potent as season three hits screens. This accompanying title sequence draws from the programme's Ozark setting and shifting timeline to produce something familiar but undeniably intoxicating.

Like previous seasons of the anthology thriller, the opening titles blends anguished expressions from the cast (now boasting the likes of Mahershala Ali, Stephen Dorff, and Carmen Ejogo) with warped topography and diabolical flourishes. Together with Cassandra Wilson's ‘Death Letter', this montage promises viewers smoky intrigue out in the sticks.
