Hobby Hero

by Syd Briscoe

The Sun: “Racing” - 90s

Some dreams simply cannot come true, but that doesn't mean passions can't be followed. At least, that's according to this funny communication from The Sun newspaper about its horse racing app, which features a bloke who found his urge to become a jockey curtailed by his own uncontrollable biology.

There are some lovely comic notes throughout this film, as the formerly 6'8" teenager comes to terms with being unable to pursue his pint-sized ambitions. A final hobby horse race is the cherry on top, providing a cheerful ending to what is - for the advertised tabloid - an oddly charming story about making the best of things.
