Living in a Ghost Town

by Syd Briscoe

The Rolling Stones: “Living in a Ghost Town” - 3 mins 59s

After eight years of silence, the Rolling Stones prove there's life in the old dogs yet as they release new track 'Living in a Ghost Town'. While the group claim the song was written over a year ago, it's impossible to ignore the uncanny lyrical parallels with our current circumstances. “Life was so beautiful/ Then we all got locked down” feels particularly on the nose.

The accompanying promo takes a look at a familiar, deserted London through a new lens - a fisheye one to be exact. Director Joe Connor gives what could be recycled visuals an impressively alien edge, intensifying the sense that we really have become another planet under quarantine. Thought-provoking stuff.
