Party poopers.

by Andrew MacGregor

The Humane League: “McGhoster” - 85s

"The party's over", says this thought-provoking commercial which calls out McDonald's over its animal welfare record. Directed by Matias & Mathias, the film targets the fast food chain via the aftermath of a debauched mansion party.

In the cold light of day, Matias & Mathias's camera roves around the estate as party guests lie unconscious on the floor with empty wine bottles for company. While they're oblivious to the world, angry consumers send the house's answering machine into overdrive.

Their collective ire stems from what The Humane League term "extreme chicken suffering" - and the lobby group are determined to bring the global behemoth to account.

Despite the film's understandably serious tone, witty production design adds another layer to proceedings, such as a desk belonging to 'Steve Westerbrook' (a libel-swerving nod to McDonald's CEO, Steve Easterbrook).

We're sure the brand are already preparing a response, but for now, this is an engagingly realised way for the advertised organisation's supporters to make their voices heard.
